Professional workshops at Glotfelty Pottery are designed for makers who already have a relationship with clay and want to go deeper. These are not introductory classes. They are concentrated, technique-focused sessions led by Glotfelty instructors and occasional visiting guest artists, built for experienced hobbyists, working potters, and ceramic artists who want to refine specific skills or learn from a master in an immersive setting.

Professional Workshop FAQs
Who are these workshops for?
Professional workshops are for makers who have moved past the basics. If you can center confidently and have spent meaningful time working in clay, you are ready. If you are a complete beginner, our Pottery Classes are the better fit - start there, and we'll see you in a workshop down the road.
Do I need to bring my own tools or materials?
Most workshops include all materials and tool access; specialized workshops may have a recommended supply list. Each workshop listing will specify.
Can I attend a workshop if I'm not local?
Yes. We frequently host out-of-town makers, especially for weekend and multi-day workshops. We can suggest nearby accommodations on request.
Do you offer CEUs or certificates of completion?
Certificates of completion are available on request for any workshop. We do not currently issue formal CEUs but can provide documentation suitable for many continuing education applications.
How are workshop prices determined?
Pricing varies based on workshop length, materials, and instructor. Visiting guest artist workshops are typically priced higher to reflect travel and honorariums. All inclusions are listed on each workshop's individual listing.
Will you ever offer business or studio-management workshops?
Yes - we periodically run workshops on pricing your work, selling pottery, photographing finished pieces, and running a small ceramics business.
