Private Lessons
Private lessons are the most focused way to learn at Glotfelty Pottery. With dedicated, undistracted instructions from our team, you can work on exactly what you want to work on - whether that's centering for the first time, troubleshooting a specific form, or refining advanced techniques you've been wrestling with on your own.
Overview
Private lessons move at your pace. We meet you where you are and build from there.
Who Private Lessons Are For
- Absolute beginners who want personal attention before joining a group class
- Returning students working on a specific skill or technique
- Experienced makers looking to push past a plateau
- Out-of-town visitors who want a focused, memorable session
- Gift recipients receiving a one-time lesson experience
- Anyone with a schedule that doesn't fit our regular class times
What a Lesson Looks Like
Before your first lesson, we'll ask a few questions so your instructor can come prepared. During the session, you'll have the full attention of your instructor - there's no waiting your turn, no working around a group, and no pace but your own.
Private Lesson FAQs
Who teaches private lessons?
Randy and Karla both teach private lessons. You may request a specific instructor when booking.
How far in advance do I need to book?
We recommend booking at least one week in advance. Same-week availability is sometimes possible.
Can I book a private lesson as a gift?
Yes. Private lesson gift certificates are one of our most popular gifts. Contact us by phone or email to arrange.
What's the difference between a private lesson and a single class?
A single class is taught in a small group setting with multiple students. A private lesson is one-on-one (or you plus one) with the instructor's full attention focused on you and your goals.
Can I bring my own project or piece I'm working on?
Please contact us before you bring in-progress work from other studios.
What's your cancellation policy for private lessons?
Private lessons rescheduled or canceled more than 48 hours in advance carry no penalty. Within 48 hours, the lesson fee is forfeited unless we can rebook the slot.
